What to expect from a session

A session is a calm, hour long structured conversation that can help you look at what is going on in your life with a heightened sense of clarity and awareness.

People usually come when they feel stuck, overwhelmed, caught in the same pattern, or unsure what is really driving a problem. Sometimes the issue is stress, anxiety, burnout, conflict, loss of direction, or a sense that life has narrowed and they want to find a better way forward.

The point of the session is to help you slow things down, and find a steady way of moving forward.

How the session works

I use a simple coaching framework that helps us explore the issue step by step.

We begin with your present experience.
What are you feeling? What is happening in your thoughts, your body, and your life right now?

Then we look at the trigger.
What tends to set this off? What situation, person, pressure, or inner reaction brings the difficulty alive?

Then we look at the pattern.
How do you usually respond when this happens? What do you do, avoid, repeat, or get pulled into?

From there, we go a little deeper.
We explore how you are seeing yourself in that situation, what you may be believing, and what feels most important to you underneath it all.

As the session unfolds, the aim is to move from the surface of the problem to a clearer more embodied understanding of what is going on.

Once that becomes clearer, we can begin to move toward a more grounded next step and what that might look like.

Why this can be helpful

When you are inside a problem, it is often hard to see it clearly.

You may only see the stress, the symptom, or the reaction. A session helps widen the view. It can show you:

  • what is triggering the difficulty

  • what keeps the pattern going

  • what you are believing in the middle of it

  • what matters more deeply to you

  • what kind of response would be more true to who you are

That is usually where change starts.

Not by forcing a solution.
By seeing more clearly.

Open Awareness

At points in the session, I may guide you to slow down and become more aware of what is happening within you.

This is a simple way of settling the mind and paying attention more openly. It helps you notice your thoughts, feelings, and body more clearly, without getting as caught up in them.

That steadier state often makes it easier to understand what is relevant and useful.

Sometimes a present challenge is connected to earlier experience. When that appears to be part of the picture, we explore it carefully and respectfully, so you can better understand how the past may still be shaping the present.

This often creates more space for awareness, steadiness, and choice in how you move forward.

How a session ends

By the end of the session, we bring it back to everyday life.

We look at what has become clearer, what feels important, and what you want to take forward. That may be a new perspective, a practical next step, or a simple way of staying in touch with yourself between sessions.

Sometimes one good session can help you see something that has been hidden in plain sight.

My role

My role is to guide the process, ask the right questions, and help you see your situation more clearly.

I am here to help you understand what is happening, reconnect with your own clarity, and support you in finding the next step that feels right for you.

Practical tools between sessions

Alongside the session itself, I may offer simple practices to support the work between meetings. These  are practical ways of helping you stay connected to what came up in the session and to bring more awareness into daily life.

Depending on what is needed, these may include:

  • short Open Awareness practices

  • simple body-and-breath grounding exercises

  • walking practices for clarity and reflection

  • structured self-reflection questions

  • practical ways of meeting stress, triggers, or difficult moments more steadily

These tools are always kept simple and tailored to you. The aim is not to give you more to do. The aim is to help you develop a steady relationship with yourself and with what is happening in your life.
